About Böning

Böning Ship Automation is a German manufacturer of marine alarm, monitoring and control systems. Founded in 1977, the company develops and manufactures electronic equipment and automation solutions for commercial vessels, yachts and other marine applications.

Its systems bring together information from engines, generators, tanks and other onboard equipment, allowing crews to monitor operating conditions, receive alarms and control selected functions from dedicated displays and control panels.

The product range covers individual monitoring and control functions as well as integrated ship automation systems, with solutions for new installations, upgrades and retrofits.

TH 36 Marine — Specialist Knowledge & Engineering Experience

Our founder, Andreas Ruether, brings around 20 years of direct experience with Böning systems, alongside more than 30 years in marine engineering and automation.

His background includes working with marine engine and ship alarm and monitoring systems, including the integration of engines, generator sets, power management systems and other onboard equipment, as well as system configuration, commissioning and troubleshooting.

At TH 36 Marine, we apply this knowledge when working on existing installations, particularly where documentation is incomplete, systems have been modified over the years or replacement components are difficult to source. We help customers assess their equipment, identify suitable options and carry out maintenance, upgrades and retrofits.

B⋮MACS – Monitoring, Alarm & Control System

Custom Bridge Panels & MultiView

Böning’s B⋮MACS system combines machinery monitoring, alarm management and control functions for engines, generator sets, tanks and other onboard equipment. Its modular design supports integration with third-party systems and additional functions such as B⋮Voice for spoken alarm announcements.

Böning’s custom bridge panels bring displays, controls and equipment from different manufacturers into a coordinated bridge layout. MultiView provides integrated access to navigation, monitoring and other onboard systems through a common display interface.

B⋮MACS PE – Plotter Edition

OEM Engine Electronics & Spare Parts

B⋮MACS PE displays vessel monitoring information and alarms on compatible marine chartplotters, giving crews access to important operating data through their existing navigation displays.

Böning develops and manufactures electronic monitoring and control equipment for marine engine manufacturers, including MAN high-speed marine engines and the MMDS system family.

TH 36 Marine supports customers with identifying and sourcing replacement components for these installations, as well as spare parts for other Böning systems.
